5 Main Take-Aways About Elder Scrolls: Blades From Bethesda's E3 Conference

4. The Gameplay

The gameplay uses rather simple mechanics, meaning it should work well on mobile platforms.

The game is a first person RPG, in keeping with the series. The player taps on the screen where they want to go to move and drags to look around, although virtual dual sticks are also options.

Combat is based around the timing and movements of the player's fingers on the screen, though Todd Howard didn't explain in great detail about what this actually meant. Regardless, it looks simple.

The world is explored using roguelike mechanics while searching through dungeons and other settings, clearly hearkening back to the first two Elder Scrolls games.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
