Backwards compatibility has been a question on everyone's mind. The first gen 60Gb PS3 did allow backwards compatibility, but subsequent editions did not, only Ps1 or PS2 games that had been newly downloaded from the Playstation Store could be played on the PS3. With the PS4 and the use of cloud technology, Sony have announced that they plan to make Playstation titles playable on all kinds of devices, not just Sony consoles, alluding to phones and tablets. The demonstration showcased the PS4 title 'Knack' on the Playstation Vita, streamed live from the PS4. Not a PS Vita port, but the PS4 title itself. It seems that Playstation titles will no longer have to have an additional portable edition, but could play full length console titles as well.
