5 Reasons You Should Drop What You're Doing & Play Shadows Of The Damned

4. Akira Yamaoka's Score

Akira If you've read any of my other articles you'll know how much of a fan of Yamaoka San I am. He's the guy that terrified us all with his intensely horrifying series of scores that have echoed throughout the ash-laden streets of Silent Hill since 1999, and here he brings his trademarked streak of class to proceedings, but with a definite punk-rock edge that suits the game just fine. It's tricky to describe a score without being able to play it for you but I think the best way to do it would be to tell you who Yamaoka was taking orders from as they designed the game. Goichi Suda (No More Heroes series and Killer7) served as Executive Director on the project, while the Creative Producer was none other than Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil series €“ including the franchise saving RE4 €“ Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and the upcoming The Evil Within). And it's that mix of balls-out fun and adventure hat mixes so well with Mikami's sense of what makes all of us squirm that works so well. You're never sure if you want to dance or run off screaming into the night.
