5 Reasons I'm Happy To Own A Wii U

3. Backwards Compatibility

Wii Fit Balance Board PS4 and X-Box One players will have to have two behemoth sized consoles set up if they want to play their back catalogues; Wii U owners simply have to pick up their Wii-mote and pop in the disk.

One of the criticisms of the Wii was that it wasn't HD.While the Wii U may not necessarily render Wii games in HD, it is nice to finally play them in an upscaled 720p or 1080i.

Wii owners can also transfer over Virtual Console titles as well. Save games and Miis can also be transferred, although personally I like the idea of having to play Tenchu, Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy all over again, and using the in built camera to create a brand new Mii.

The advantages of prior ownership don't stop there either. Wii Fit U retails at about £80. However, owners of a balance board need only download the demo and pay a mere £20 for a fit meter to unlock the full game.

Bargain.

While we're on the subject of saving money...

David is grateful not only for the opportunity WhatCulture! has given him but also for the tens of thousands of views that you have given him. Particularly, when he still considers his efforts as somewhat clumsy and amateurish. Like H.P. Lovecraft, David will probably never be happy with his own work. Still this doesn't stop him studying E-Prime, Game Theory, Tantra, Magic, Media Analysis & Criticism along with many other things outside of his top secret day to day job and writing for WhatCulture! All of this in a no doubt conceited effort to improve not only his writing but also himself as a person.
