5 Reasons To Play Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning

2. Story

As I've mentioned before the story behind Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is as huge as it is unknown. I can't describe how gutted I am that I'll never get the chance to explore the history of the world further in future games, but at least we have this 100 hour plus adventure to immerse ourselves in. and that is absolutely something you should do. The game begins with you dying and being revived by a little gnome fellow, who has been tinkering with reincarnation in a place called the Well of Souls. On reviving you €“ and of course, after you build your character €“ the short guy discovers that your ties to whatever pre-determined fate you had once had in your former life have been severed by death. You're not tied to being the baker you were or the candlestick maker you had once eked out a living as. Now you are free to become a warrior; a warrior that might just be the land's only hope of survival against the Winter Elves. To say anymore would be to spoil it, and even then it would probably take too long to even scratch the surface of this expansive tale, so I suppose you're just going to have to take my word for it. This is a game that not only runs for 100 plus hours, it's a game that keeps you interested, keeps you excited, and keeps you caring for 100 plus hours.
