Part of Suikoden's core strengths is its gameplay. From it's simple but intuitive turn-based battle mechanics, mini-games, inclusion of war battles and it's side features, the series have shown tons of effort in pushing the technological limitations at the time of development.

Fast forward to today, with the presence of far superior and updated game engines(Unreal Engine & Unity to mention a few), more powerful consoles, and tools to improve just about everything from the ground up, it's a no-brainer to revive the series at this point.
