5 Things We Want To Improve In MMORPGs
A sad truth, or so I've found is that your character, and it's stats and abilities, is no different from most other people. As I briefly mentioned earlier, your stats are solely determined on your class, race and gear thus making you pretty much equal to most other people of your situation. Now, I don't know about how you guys feel about that but I know I'd love to feel that my character was at least a little more unique.
I miss the days of rolling your stats and getting a random array of numbers for you to then choose your class and decide whether to play the underdog and gain those numbers you're lacking for your desired class or just pick the one that suits your character best. It brings an intense feeling of reality, that you're working with your character as he/she has their strengths and weaknesses and you're helping them on their way to bettering themselves. It may seem like an old school way of looking at things but I feel that rolling stats makes it more of an adventure than a simple grind to max level.
In conclusion, I'm happy with the way a lot of MMORPG games are made and played nowadays - the points I have previously pointed out were mostly the beauties I'd discovered in earlier games though they, in turn, had their flaws. If modern titles could maintain the Raiding and Dungeon aspect to games whilst incorporating some of the smaller items above, It would make me one very happy gamer and I'd hope it would please my fellow enthusiasts too!
