There is a lot of hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 right now, impressing audiences at two E3s in a row. At both events, CD Projekt RED showed off compelling trailers with the second one revealing that Keanu Reeves will be in the game. You might have noticed - it's only dominated the internet ever since.

E3 of course added to the excitement surrounding the game, but the initial interest undeniably came from the fact that it shares a developer with the incredible The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

CD Projekt RED's Witcher series is brilliant, and the third game in particular will go down as one of the greatest RPGs in recent history. It launched the franchise to new heights, and with that came a huge amount of expectation for the dev's next release.

Cyberpunk 2077 is likely to differ greatly from the Witcher series, as it's set in a distinct open world and its first-person view means it will also play very differently. However, CD Projekt RED have hopefully not ignored The Witcher 3 completely, as it did so many things right that their new IP could benefit from.

5. A Gwent Type Minigame

Cyberpunk 2077 should not include Gwent, obviously, as the card game would not fit the aesthetic of the world, but the game should try to include a mini-game that is as enjoyable as Witcher 3's Gwent.

Usually mini-games can be a fun little distraction to kill a bit of time between quests and are not anything substantial. Witcher 3 showed what mini-games could be special, as Gwent was more than a distraction, but rather a surprisingly deep and addictive addition.

Gwent is a card game that is simple to understand but still imbued with a good amount of strategy, such as deciding when to use a decoy card or even purposely losing a round to make your opponent use some of their best cards.

Over 100 cards are included in Witcher 3, which also adds a collectable element as well.

CD Projekt RED even released Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales which are two standalone Gwent games due to the mini-game's popularity,

Going around to different shopkeepers just to play Gwent added multiple hours to Witcher 3's game time, and Cyberpunk 2077 could benefit from that same replayability.
