5 Ways Nintendo Can Make The Wii U A Success In 2013

3. The Gamepad

When the Wii U was announced, Nintendo believed that they had the advantage over their competitors with their €˜Swiss army knife€™ controller, sporting seemingly countless possibilities in how it can change the way people play their games forever. However, it seems that some developers (and also the shareholders) just didn€™t, and still don€™t particularly get it. From the launch games, we€™ve only really seen ports of old games with some features lazily using the controller; Arkham City and Assassin€™s Creed 3, to name a few, only have limited functionality with the game pad. So, it€™s up to Nintendo to show it off in order to try and win over potential third-party developers. And while they may have already started to do this with such games as Nintendo Land, it€™s necessary to show it can work in a broader genre of games and prove it is as innovative as they have previously claimed.
