3. The Gamepad

When the Wii U was announced, Nintendo believed that they had the advantage over their competitors with their Swiss army knife controller, sporting seemingly countless possibilities in how it can change the way people play their games forever. However, it seems that some developers (and also the shareholders) just didnt, and still dont particularly get it. From the launch games, weve only really seen ports of old games with some features lazily using the controller; Arkham City and Assassins Creed 3, to name a few, only have limited functionality with the game pad. So, its up to Nintendo to show it off in order to try and win over potential third-party developers. And while they may have already started to do this with such games as Nintendo Land, its necessary to show it can work in a broader genre of games and prove it is as innovative as they have previously claimed.
