1. Backwards Compatibility
Like Halo 4? Red Dead Redemption? Tomb Raider or Gears of War? Well, don't expect to be able to play them for much longer, unless you keep your current 360 sitting around. We all knew it was coming, but it didn't hurt any less when we found out that Xbox One would not support backwards compatibility. For gamers like myself, I love being able to go back and play my favorite games regardless of what generation they are from. I pride myself on my collection and feel stiffed when my entire game library becomes irrelevant at the whims of a new console generation. It hurt even more when it was revealed that a player's current Xbox Live account, including Gamerscore, reputation, and avatar, will transfer to the new Xbox One, as well as any current media purchases. However, digital downloads apparently won't be included in this transfer. That's like Microsoft is just spitting in my face. And unfortunately, with the news that PS4 won't include backwards compatibility either, it looks like this is a trend that may stick around. Kudos to Nintendo, who at least tries to maintain backwards compatibility most of the time.
What else do you think Microsoft needs to clarify at E3? Let me know in the comments.
