6 Retconned Plot Points That Ruined Beloved Video Game Characters
4. Batman Has A Serious Memory Problem - Batman: Arkham Origins
What you think you know: It's Batman. Scourge of the criminal underworld, wielder of gadgets, master of every martial art known to man. The bone-breakin', batarang-flingin', shadow-creepin' phenom himself.
What you must accept: Despite being all of the above, he's also - thanks to Arkham Origins' developers Warner Bros. Montreal not being able to think of a plausible reason why - completely forgetful. For example, he learns how to pull off the 'Disarm & Destroy' move, letting him snap enemy weapons, during this game's campaign, only to forget the move in Arkham Asylum.
He also learns how to take down a Titan-sized enemy and pull off a Cape Stun, not to mention acquiring the Electrocutioner's Shock Gloves for the whole game - only to then misplace them, have the GCPD lock them up, and have to acquire the Remote Electric Charge separately in Arkham Knight.
Come on Bruce, you're supposed to be the World's Greatest Detective, not yet another amnesia-riddled, gruff-voiced anti-hero.
