1. It Mostly Lives Up To The (Reasonable) Hype

It's fair to say that No Man's Sky does indeed live up to the hype...if you've been reasonable and fair about your expectations.

No, it's not the second coming of Christ nor is it even the best game of the year, but if you bought it hoping for a gorgeous, calming sci-fi exploration game (not a massively multiplayer shooter), then Hello Games have absolutely delivered on their promises.

It's not perfect and Hello have insisted they will continue to enhance the game through patches, but from day one, it's an invigorating and satisfying experience that's quite unlike anything else out there. It won't be for everyone, but as long as you've not become swept up in excessive hype, it lives up to what it set out to do.
