The fundamental lesson that we can learn from any video game, but especially in the case of Dark Souls, is that when you fall off the unicorn, you've got to grip it by the horn and get right back up on there. I’m pretty certain that’s how the analogy goes.

Some bosses in the world of the Dark Souls games took hours, even days to defeat. Some are optional, yes, and it is often those bosses that are the hardest. In Dark Souls III in particular, there is a boss called the Nameless King that is infamous for being one of the hardest in the whole series. As if slaying his winged dragon steed wasn’t hard enough, the boss then attacks you directly with a completely different move-set. It requires copious amounts of practise to finally make this King bend the knee to you.

Dark Souls teaches you to never give up. Everything in life that’s worth doing and worth working towards is going to be difficult.

You will get knocked back, you will want to quit, but hard work always pays off. Keep trying, and eventually, you will do the thing.
