7 Awesome Film Franchises That Deserve A Great Next-Gen Game

3. Game Of Thrones

Based on George R.R. Martin€™s wildly successful books and finding worldwide acclaim, success and mass recognition with HBO€™s television adaption, Game of Thrones has been adapted to our gaming screens as recently as 2011 for a 360, PS3 and PC game of the same name. The game did not receive the same acclaim as the other media in the franchise. It is perhaps unsurprising given that video game tie-ins are usually rushed and rarely deliver upon the promise. With a new console set to be announced for this year (almost certainly), what better time to vanquish the memories of that game and release a product up there in quality with the books and the television show. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been the closest thing to a Game of Thrones style world we have seen this generation, and it only serves to prove that a role-playing adventure based in Westeros is more than achievable. And given the vast and expansive mythology Martin has created, an adventure through his world meeting and completing tasks for a wide range of characters as part of a greater overall story arc would truly be memorable. As the success of the books and the television show€™s acclaim continue to grow, a worthy video game adaption will hopefully be only be around the corner in the next-generation of video game consoles.
