7 Awesome Japanese Video Games Never Released In The USA

1. Mother 3

Metal Wolf Chaos
Nintendo

This is the big one. The big ‘’mother’’ if you will. It’s the sequel to the critically acclaimed Earthbound, and its development spanned twelve years and four consoles, beginning in 1994 for the SNES and then transitioning to the N64 before being cancelled. Development then restarted in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance and Mother 3 was finally released on April 20, 2006. In Japan. Only in Japan.

In typical RPG fashion the player controls a party of characters exploring a top-down open world, chatting with NPCs and battling enemies. Mother 3 was one of the best selling games in Japan for 2006. So why no international release Nintendo? Someone at the company must realise how much easy money putting Mother 3 out will be. This is one game English-speaking gamers have been waiting on for so long they’ve almost given up hope. Maybe one day, Nintendo. Pretty please?
