7 Deadly Video Game Sins - Sloth!
2. Arkham Knight On PC
Now this entry at first might seem a little strange, to single out just ONE video game out of the thousands of others, especially considering some of the ones I've just detailed, However, Batman: Arkham Knight on PC was an unmitigated disaster caused in massive parts thanks to Warner Bros. sheer laziness.
You see, while the game itself is a technical wonder when it's running on full steam, when PC players tried to play the thing ON Steam it was a broken mess from start to... well only the start. The title would crash mere minutes into play, stuttering so badly even on top-end PCs that it resembled a slideshow whenever the action kicked off. Now bugs and issues like this on launch are an unfortunately common thing, especially when it comes from a factor the developers didn't predict like server load or a string of code that isn't compatible with a certain platform, yet here Warner Bros. KNEW ABOUT THE BUGS FOR MONTHS PRIOR and did absolutely nothing about it.
In fact, in a Kotaku post, sources told the media outlet that these were the same bugs that were reported a full year before shipping, but that Warner Bros. deemed it acceptable because they wanted to stick to their schedule. This completely detached mindset, that players would simply allow a publisher to fob them off so hard was incredibly short-sighted and overwhelmingly lazy. The only thing that pulled the game through mass negative reception was user fixes, and when the community has to fix your game because it would be "too costly" to patch yourself, then that's an awful sign right there.
