Mark this one next to space wizards on the list of things not expected when playing Destiny in the first look PS4 alpha.Obviously the game is a first-person shooter, but gamers don't usually regret turning the lights off for those types of games. During the alpha, the first encounter with a scary dark lair was right in the middle of the first area in Old Russia near the beginning of the game. After descending into the darkness, the Warlock's flashlight automatically ticks on giving off a tight cone of light in front of the camera to see - hardly comforting given the degree of darkness that still engulfs the surroundings. Adding to the tension, fait and distant noises started to echo. Then red notices appeared on the radar to indicate enemies nearby. Then the outlined figure of creatures started rushing towards the Warlock with "??" listed where its level should have been above their heads. The creatures quickly forced the Warlock to respawn and ended his life. Destiny is far from a true survival horror game, but the fact that it bothers to mix so many small little flavors from other genres just goes to show how epic of an experience it really is.
