Sebastien Mitton, in charge of the game’s art style, is clearly an intelligent guy with an incredible wealth of historical and cultural knowledge at his disposal.

From studying an art-based degree, to his general passion for sartorial culture and history, the guy is a full of interesting facts. Did he include some of these in Dishonoured 2? Of course he did.

Mitton even studied the clothing of previous centuries down to the little details. He mentioned how he would analyse brass buttons on coats, certain lapel styles and lengths of shirts and jackets. It’s a pretty impressive attention to the little things, some that many gamers would not think twice about.

Mitton consulted art, geography, and history books when the team and he could not afford the time to pursue physical locations to document and photograph. He even took inspiration in the most unlikely of places. He was apparently amazed by the recent Ron Howard adaption of Moby Dick. That one came as a little surprising.
