Back to the positives.

Gameplay footage from AEW's game raced past during the reveal, but it's worth re-watching a few more times to get a feel for what kind of title this is going to be. It actually looks pretty similar to the old TNA game from 2008, which won't suit everybody. Characters move with an impressive arcade-ish zip though.

Some commenting on Twitch said it reminded them of No Mercy on N64. That might be wishful thinking, because footage of moves/spots/bumps from Kris Statlander and Nyla Rose didn't look anything like the retro classic. Sometimes, and this is forgivable, people just see what they want to see.

Yuke's still need to fine tune some of the graphical clipping between characters, but everything seems promising enough. Every bump had a meaty thud to it too, and that's always good. Gameplay is moving in the right direction.
