The Binding Of Isaac series is a wonderful slice of gaming bastardry, as not only can it provide joy by the metric shedloads thanks to its piano wire tight gameplay, but it can also absolutely garrotte the life out of players in a single motion thanks to its noxious cocktail of brutal bosses and RNG loot drops.

You can go on a monstrous run kitted out with the best equipment, only to fall, restart and then struggle for hours getting through the opening sections with gear that just seem to be insulting on every conceivable level, however, no matter how long it takes you, it can only end one way, and that's with a confrontation with Mom.
