7 Ups & 6 Downs From E3 2019

3. G.R.R. Martin And FromSoftware's Elden Ring

After months of leaks and speculation (including one which spoiled everything the day before the project was actually revealed, whoops), FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin's team-up game was announced to the world on Microsoft's stage. Now titled Elden Ring, the title is about the hunt for the titular artefact, with the CG trailer revealing little else about the story or how it plays.

Consequently, fans have no idea whether the game is going to play similarly to the tough-but-fair titles the studio made its name off, or if it will be a major departure. The leaks seemingly indicated the latter, with the game being set in an open world and featuring far more versatility when it comes to movement, including the ability to ride horses.

The lack of any concrete details could have been a little bit frustrating, but considering the hot streak From are on at the moment, combined with the stunning trailer itself, easily meant it stole the show at Microsoft's conference.
