7 Video Games You Have To Play Twice To Understand

3. Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire

This one just stings a little.

So when I was a wee tyke, I eagerly consumed everything with the Star Wars logo on, and Shadows Of The Empire was another delicious dive into the lore I loved, and so onwards I slogged, against the (and let's be honest here) pretty stiff controls and abysmal aiming to find out what would become of the loveable rogue Dash Rendar.

Well, it turns out that I'd made my first and most fatal mistake the moment I started the game and selected "Medium" difficulty as it turns out this locks you out of the actual ending of the game! Upon reaching the end of this "baby" experience, the game ends with a "Did Dash Really Die" text popup before then telling you that in order to unlock the truth you'd have to play on "Hard" or "Jedi" mode.

Now to say that I was a little frustrated by the revelation would be an understatement, but onward I went, pushing through graphics so jagged you could cut beef on them, and past the !*$% DIFFICULTY SPIKES THESE NEW DIFFICULTIES INTRODUCED, in order to understand the fate of Dash and his crew.

Luckily it turns out they all survived, escaping in the Outrider and choosing to let the world believe they're dead in order to avoid gangs looking for revenge finding them. It may have taken many weeks and a few broken controllers, but it was worth it to know Dirty Dick Dash and the gang were alive and well.
