8 Awesome Resident Evil Games That Almost Happened
4. Resident Evil Zero (N64 Version)
Resident Evil Zero was the last game in the series to use the fixed camera style, which was pretty much obsolete by then. The finished game was messy, featuring an awkward inventory system with a silly drop item mechanic and weak enemy designs, but theres was still fun to be had. The game was originally developed for the N64, where it featured the same basic plot with some key differences; Wesker would have been a more proactive villain and multiple endings including a continuity ruining one where Rebecca dies were planned. The game would have been a tighter experience than the redesigned version because of memory limits, which is what ultimately caused this version to be scrapped. The ambition of Zero was more than a poor little N64 cartridge could bear, and rather than cut features from the game they started fresh on the GameCube instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0sn6rRB9TQ
