8 Awesome Resident Evil Games That Almost Happened

1. Resident Evil 1.5

Unquestionably the most famous cancelled game in the series, Resident Evil 1.5 was the original version of the second game that was in the region of sixty to ninety percent complete (accounts vary) before the plug was plugged. Producer Mikami wasn€™t happy with 1.5€™s design or story - finding it "too boring" - so he made the ballsy move to scrap it and start fresh. The game would still have been set in a police station (albeit a sleeker, more modern one) with Leon Kennedy would have been the hero, and a new female character named Elza Walker would have been the second playable character, but there would have been no crossover between their stories. The game would have featured more powerful weapons (including assault rifles and grenades) and more enemy types, including infected monkeys and human/spider hybrids. There would also have been larger groups of zombies, and their splashing blood would have stuck to characters clothing. Characters from the released game would have featured in different roles, with the gun shop owner €“ who dies early in the game €“ sticking around to help the player at certain points. Those are just some of the differences, and a fervent fanbase has built up around 1.5, to the point that some of them have gone to the effort of rebuilding a playable copy of it for themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cclTPAxzMjo Were you excited for any of these Resident Evil games, or were Capcom right to scrap them? Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
