Batman: Arkham Knight - 8 Identity Theories You Can Stop Believing

7. The Arkham Knight Is A Hallucination

The whole 'well he's over here so he can't be over there' tactic is one that's going to be used a fair bit in this article (it's classic detective work!), and if you although the theory that Bats is imagining the whole thing as some twisted comment on his failure to protect Gotham is brilliant, the fact that the Arkham Knight has his own agency in the world debunks this immediately. "Agency to do what?" You may ask - well, to blast the Electrocutioner's eyes in for one, as the Knight's first appearance in the Arkhamverse shows him confronting an all-new version of the villain after Batman has taken off (and is talking to Alfred) only to execute him by way of a shotgun to the mush. If the Knight is part of Bruce's mind it would mean he's broken his one rule in the most lacklustre way possible, and considering Electrocutioner has an exchange that addresses the Knight directly, this is just impossible to believe.
