8 BEST Movie Tie-In Video Games EVER

5. Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue

The Toy Story movies are so charming and creative that it's nigh-on impossible for a video game to live up to them, but credit where it's due - Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue gets an A for effort.

Players take control of Buzz Lightyear as he and the other toys set off to rescue Woody from Al McWhiggin.

As if getting to use Buzz's full skill-set isn't a neat enough idea for a game, it packs a whole ton of diversity into its relatively brief play-time of just a few hours.

Each of the levels, from Andy's house to Al's Toy Barn and even the airport, all lovingly recreate their movie counterparts, and are impressively wide-open for a 1999 game, giving players freedom to explore while completing a solidly varied array of missions.

Far from a Super Mario 64-like with some Toy Story branding lazily slapped on it, this is an uncommonly creative and well-crafted movie tie-in that does firm justice to Pixar's most beloved IP.
