InFamous: Second Son had beautiful graphics, a unique – at the time – spray-painting controller gimmick, and the best soundtrack of the franchise with Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box. Although a good console launch, Delsin and Reggie greatly paled in comparison to the series’ more beloved Batman and Robin: Cole McGrath and Zeke.

After the events of the first InFamous, Cole moves away from the drab Empire City to the more diverse New Marais in an effort to escape The Beast. However, Cole quickly learns that running is futile, and he must seek stronger and new abilities so that he can defeat this dark, mysterious, and deadly entity.

With the superpower of electricity, you are able to choose between being a blue paragon and goody two shoes like Captain America, or a red renegade who – instead of giving people free electricity – fries everyone and everything in sight.

In addition to being good or bad through both actions and decisions, there is also dozens of collectibles for you to find, a story to become invested in, and a collection of Gojira-like beasts for you to topple and conquer in thrilling boss battles.

The non-artificial choices, addictive gameplay, and unforgettable characters make InFamous 2 the best superhero game that isn’t owned by DC or Marvel. It’s a shame that the same cannot be said for the Vampire genre and its Festival Of Blood DLC.
