4. Fallout 3 Predicted The Deepwater Horizon Incident

Fallout 3's radio transmissions serve several purposes: fleshing out the in-game world, setting up missions, and occasionally, predicting the future - or so it would seem.

One particular broadcast sent internet message boards into meltdown two years on from the game's release. “9-4-5-4-2-0-2-0-1-0. Accident in Gulf, several dead. Oil spill apparently averted,” the cryptic message states.

Most Fallout 3 fans have probably heard this transmission play out several times before and thought nothing of it, but there are some who cite it as evidence that the game predicted the Deepwater Horizon incident, right down to its exact date and time, as well as the fact BP erroneously thought their oil well was not leaking.

Uncannily, the oil rig disaster occurred at 9:45am on 20 April 2010, but it seems that Bethesda's crystal ball doesn't always work so well. Fallout 3's radio transmissions also predicted that the Queen would die on 1 September 2014, but she's still alive and kicking more than three years later.
