3. It Just Works - Fallout 76
"It just works" the quote that sunk a thousand ships.
This may well be the line that haunts Todd Howard until his last breath on this earth for just how catastrophically it came back to bite him and the rest of his team on the arse come the launch of Fallout 76.
Yet despite the world over scorching the game with scathing nuclear heat, it was this very moment that the entire project collapsed under its own flab. We just didn't know it yet. Todd and his team did, however, and by making such a bold statement while knowing of the litany of bugs that were infesting Fallout 76, he basically lied to our faces and was cheered for it.
Imagine being one of the devs furiously trying to make it so that the server didn't crash each time a person picked up a dirty water bottle, or trying to make it so that enemies didn't phase-out of the world, or were sweating in vain to make the BLOODY GOD RAYS STOP SHINING OUT OF THE EARTH ITSELF and hearing your boss say "it just works"
It's enough to throw your hands up and dive off the tracks with the rest of the game.
