8 First-Person Video Games That Changed Gaming Forever

1. Fallout 3

Wolfenstein 1
Bethesda

This game is what one could call the ultimate change in a franchise. One of the most popular IPs in the world took a gigantic deviation from its tried and tested formula.

There is ongoing debate on whether or not it was a step in the right direction. Purists will say that Bethesda's Fallout 3 is a mere shadow of the former Black Isle Studios' Fallouts 1 and 2, but you'll find a large population that says 3, New Vegas, and 4 are what Fallout was meant to be.

The argument is one that will never be settled, but what we can all agree on is that Fallout 3 was the sign that the franchise would never be the same again. From isometric and turn based beginnings, to first person shootouts and face-to-face interactions, Fallout as a whole was transformed.

Each formula had its strengths and weaknesses, but you can't deny that experiencing the Wasteland in the first person made us further fall in love with Fallout.

With the new perspective, Fallout fans had the opportunity to experience the irradiated remains of the capital of the U.S.A., the Mojave Wasteland, and The Commonwealth and we loved almost every minute.
