8 Gameplay Sections That Nearly Killed Amazing Video Games

1. Any Stealth Section - Shadow Of Rome

If you ever sat looking out of your window as rain dripped down the pane and sighed "boy howdy I sure do wish someone would combine my love of Devil May Cry and the film Gladiator" then fret not my friend, for this crossover exists in video game form and it goes by the name of SHADOW OF ROME.

And it is, gloriously over the top.

You've got your combo meters, you've got your special moves, you've got your buckets of blood and gore and a relentlessly callous approach to death (my personal favorite being REST IN PEACE popping up when you've stabbed a bloke through the face) and as you might expect it's delicious, turn your brain off, fun.

However what most players likely didn't anticipate was the sudden gameplay switch from full-on action to mandatory stealth, which happens more than I'd care to engage within a game of this nature.

For the record, NONE is the times I want stealth in my action games. Especially ones from the PS2 era where because of clunky controls, bad camera angles, and of course the sheer jank that comes with early titles like this, things boiled down to crossing your fingers and hoping that the guards actually were faced the other way and not just missing a texture on their faces.

With instant failure added to the mix, these sections left you begging for the game to hurry up and get back to the bloodshed.
