8 Games That Radically Changed How You See The World

5. Life Is Strange

Journey Game
Square Enix

Life Is Strange has lingered around in the general gaming consciousness for almost an entire decade, in large part because its central theme of choice and consequence hits so damn hard.

With players able to rewind time in order to re-do in-game choices, it offers up a fascinating "what if?" element - a privilege that, of course, none of us have in reality.

And naturally, with the original game's devastating final choice, it leaves players to reflect on the very notion of choice in their own lives - that tough decisions shouldn't be made hastily, and sometimes there isn't an easy path forward.

To many, Life Is Strange inspired them to be more present in their lives, to take stock of the outcome of their actions, no matter how minor, and do as much as possible with absolute intention.

The impactful of the game's story and thematics is precisely why players have had such, er, passionate reactions to recent sequel Double Exposure.
