6. First Person - GTA V

Ever since Grand Theft Auto made the monumental jump from the top-down perspective of the original titles to the glorious third-person 3D of GTA III, the series has been famous for allowing players to watch from behind as the iconoclastic protagonist engages in a variety of activities both in and outside of the law.

But what if we could see what they see? What would it be like to look Roman directly in the eye as you trail to yet another session at the bowling alley?

Well, fans of GTA IV wondered exactly that and embarked on creating mods that allowed the player to enjoy the GTA experience in the first person.

Clearly impressed by the ingenuity of their fanbase, Rockstar included the option to switch into the first-person perspective on the PS4 and XBOX one editions of the game released in 2014.

This wasn't just a lazy direct port either, the first-person mode included some serious detail particularly when driving. Now engaging in sadistically murderous rampages across Los Santos while listening to the melodic tones of Non-Stop Pop FM had an even more immersive feel.
