1. Hulk Hogan's Main Event
Hulk Hogan is not too dissimilar to KISS in that he will put his likeness to absolutely ANYTHING. Hogan has been peddling his wares since the 80s and somehow, there are still people around who will buy "Hulkamania" merchandise. To give him credit, Hogan has managed to keep his head floating just far enough above the water to stay somewhat relevant. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have the crossover appeal that he once had and tacking his tash onto this game didn't help matters one bit. In 2011, Hulk got his own Kinect game known as "Hulk Hogan's Main Event." As if the blatant celebrity inclusion wasn't reason enough to avoid, the fact that it was Kinect reliant should have been enough warning to take your money and spend it on something worthwhile. Like a hammer to smash your Kinect with. Kinect games in general were mostly useless and Hogan's Main Event was not only no exception but maybe the worst of the lot. On paper a motion based wrestling game sounds great. DDT your friends in front of your TV, what could go wrong? Nothing as long as it recognizes the command "Kinect! Phone Ambulance!" Instead Main Event focused on the showmanship aspect of wrestling which to be fair was the aspect that Hogan was more famous for. What it boiled down to was basically a pose down with your TV, striking poses that the game threw out in order to make your entrance, avoid things and beat your opponent. You were supposed to be able to utilize Kinect to rise from unknown wrestler to superstar all along being tutored by the "Immortal" Hulk Hogan. The first problem arises when trying to create a character. Even getting through the menus proved to be a struggle with the Kinect functionality working about as well as Brooke Hogan on a live microphone. Not surprisingly, gameplay is no different, with the Kinect implementation being ridiculously broken and struggling to read what you were trying to do at every turn. If you can get past the fact that the game is virtually unplayable, the graphics and sound were also poor and Hogan's existence within the game was actually very sparse in the end up. It was funny enough that they were trying to pass off a collection of mini games as a wrestling game, made only funnier by the fact that NOTHING worked. Main Event is entertaining the first time the game asks you to do a wrestling pose, then you realise that you've just experienced all th depth that it has to offer. While games like the Fight on PS Move and Sonic Riders on Kinect were bad for similar reasons, none of them can hold a candle to the complete shambles that is Hogan's Main Event.
