Whereas many horror titles might open with the player being introduced to the monsters within the area at a semi-safe distance, or giving them some easy fodder to avoid or chew through, Dead Space not only brings one of its more horrifying creatures to the forefront but then completely strips you of any means of defense whatsoever.

It's a desperate flight as Necromorphs of all shapes and sizes flood the area, and while it's laid out in a linear route, things are made more challenging should you not be prepared to hammer the everloving piss out of a QTE at the end of the area which is basically just the fear soaked cherry on a cake made of utter dread.
