8 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Went Completely Off The Rails

When gamers started out in the mid nineties; they created a decent team that relied on starter Pokémon to lead the pack, before throwing a sacrificial lamb into the fray in order to revive something like a precious starter against the Elite Four. We later went on to catch Mewtwo, and felt virtually unstoppable.

Now, we can mostly do the same: train up a starter and throw in the odd sacrificial creature while reviving or healing our other favourites, but it’s not that simple anymore. Thanks to the internet, we’ve all been told to hatch eggs with the perfect EV’s for training in order to form the most perfect team we can.

If this irritating breeding wasn’t enough hassle, there are also way more types to deal with. I still can’t remember what’s super effective against Dark types and I’ve been training them for 15 years now – how the hell am I supposed to defeat a Fairy type?

Why couldn't it just stay simple?
