If there's one enemy synonymous with the almighty Dragon Quest franchise, it's the humble, true and blue Slime. This cutesy little lad has become something of a mascot for the series, as despite its attempts to kill you and your party at any given notice, it's won the hearts of many thanks to an adorable smile and bouncy body.

However, the Classic Blue Slime is far from the only member of this goopy gene pool, as there are tonnes of Slime variations that can be found throughout the games.

The rarest and shockingly tough to beat one has to be The Metal Slime.

It might not sound like it, but encountering one of these is actually cause for much celebration and indeed much panic, as not only are they super rare to come across, but also serve as a chance to earn a buttload of EXP.

By beating this mound of metallic sludge, you'll earn EXP rewards enough to either completely level a character or put a significant dent in your progress bar. The only problem is that it's incredibly tough to battle, immune to most magic, and it runs away after a few rounds.
