8 Nintendo Switch Criticisms That Also Apply To The PS4 & Xbox One
3. Expensive Optional Controllers & Accessories
Are the Nintendo Switch accessories overpriced? Very much so. But are they optional? Oh yes.
You literally do not need a handheld charging mount when the Joy-Cons charge off the tablet itself. Either they'll pull from the tablet when you're playing in handheld, or just slot them onto the tablet whilst it's in the dock to get a full battery the next day.
The Pro Controller too, whilst you could make the argument it should've been included out of the box for something like Zelda, is more in-line with Microsoft's Xbox Elite pad or the Razer Raiju and Nacon Revolution; Sony's licensed 'pro controllers'. Such options are entirely that: Optional.
The Switch's base Joy-Con works just fine when slid into the standard housing, and besides a screen protector or plush carry case to encourage portability, there's not one Switch accessory that feels as though it definitely should've shipped with the system.
