8 Popular Video Game Glitches You Were Never Meant To Find

5. The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Screen Jumping

This particular glitch has occurred in a lot of Zelda titles, but never more usefully than in Link's Awakening, as far as I'm concerned.

A truly brilliant handheld game, Link's Awakening could probably do with a HD remake on console. It's that good, but we'd definitely lose access to the crafty glitch that made getting around a damn sight easier.

By pressing SELECT to open the map screen just as Link crossed over onto another frame would see our hero appear on the opposite side of the screen to where he would usually arrive.

Ergo, you could skip from location to location with ease and could gain access to certain areas much earlier in the game than you should've - including some dungeons and their late game weaponry almost right away - along with duplicating collectable items.

A HUGE word of caution, however, as Link can get himself good and stuck if the glitch is used incorrectly, or in the wrong places. Equally, if the player attempts to use the glitch to avoid a boss fight, they'll find themselves unable to claim the Wind Instrument - a necessary part of progression - whatsoever.

It's dangerous to use this glitch, take care.
