We're a far cry from the likes of Mario, Sonic and Crash defining their systems, and the nearest these days is probably Nathan Drake.

To that end, whilst they're obviously not original, it feels great to control a couple of characters that genuinely exude the characteristics of mass appeal.

Ratchet bounds along like the Galactic Ranger he was born to be, whilst Clank animates and rotates his limbs on your back. The two of them form an instantly recognisable and enjoyable tag-team, one that's a joy to watch both in-game and through cutscenes.
