6. Super Power Duds + Awful QTEs - Balan Wonderworld

Honestly, there is so much to absolutely loathe and laugh at when it comes to Balan Wonderworld because let's face facts, everything on offer here that is presented as "new and exciting" is boring, well worn, and badly implemented. It's literally the Holy Trinity except replace images of the cross with crap.

Let's start with the abysmal QTE's that the game will throw at you over and over in a manner that reeks of "well we needed to distract you from the awful level design somehow" and seeing as each plays out in literally the same fashion each time, you'll be sick of these forced "gameplay" sections from the jump.

And speaking of jump, let's talk about the much-lauded "power-ups" and costumes the game pushed heavily in the lead-up to launch. With over 80 special and unique abilities, you'd rightly expect Balan Wonderwolrd to be a world open for exploration, experimentation, and through a combination of the two, excitement.

However the only "e" word that fits the experience is "excrement" because the power-ups barely work, are heinously limited, and many are so laughably bad that you have to wonder if this wasn't just the devs having a laugh at your expense.

Baby's first Mario Odyssey this was not, as even with all the powers of BLAND BLUNDERWORLD combined you'd not even get out of the bloody starting area of that game.
