8 Star Wars Video Game Franchises EA Should Reboot

1. Knights Of The Old Republic

Of all the discarded IPs fans have mourned the loss of up to this point, Knights of the Old Republic isn't just the most likely to receive a follow-up, but the most deserving. Excluding The Old Republic due to its massively-multiplayer leanings, the last time a marriage between Star Wars and the RPG genre took place was in 2004 with this very series, leaving the story started by BioWare and continued by Obsidian on a decade-long cliffhanger.

The former's aforementioned MMO has paid tribute to the classic by inserting fan-favourite characters into the lore, but it's the methodical gameplay of the original games as well as the fantastic two-part (so far) story that both studios had a hand in that makes it so memorable. You can't have one without the other.

Obsidian's sequel received its fair share of flak for feeling unfinished but, as it has grown accustomed to in the years since with Fallout: New Vegas, its failings have since been forgiven as being mostly out of their control. Fan efforts have since restored the wealth of cut and missing content, but even that is little more than a consolatory surrogate for a desired third entry.

As if by fate, EA is now the proud owner of BioWare, so the creator returning to a series it kickstarted isn't impossible, though with Anthem now being its baby, that potential future looks bleaker by the second. What a shame.
