8 TERRIBLE Video Game Box Arts That Made You Avoid AMAZING Games

1. Binary Domain

And finally, to take one look at the cover for Binary Domain, you'd never assume it was a well-regarded third-person shooter that's regularly brought up as one of the most underappreciated of the PS360 era.

The cover, which shows protagonist Dan Marshall carrying a wounded comrade through a chaotic battlefield, is about as listlessly unimaginative as action game cover art gets.

The lousy art style and adherence to generic action tropes is one thing, but the cover is also just way too cluttered with Things Happening, while failing to concretely let potential customers know what the game is really about.

Nothing stands out, at least not in a good way, and the robot enemies are pushed far enough into the periphery that you might not even notice that they're definitely robots.

All in all, Binary Domain's cover art made it look like a low-budget title that was inevitably critically panned, even though it quickly became a cult fave due to its surprisingly engaging story and innovative action gameplay.
