8 Times Censorship Almost Ruined Your Favourite Video Games

1. Pretty Much All Of South Park: The Stick Of Truth

Unrestricted by the rules of TV, the writers of South Park were able to be even more controversial than they usually are when creating the critically acclaimed The Stick of Truth. But even with the added freedom, there were still a few moments that were deemed too much for an international audience.

Although the game went uncut in America, Ubisoft made the decision to censor seven major scenes themselves for the game's European release. The two that were covered the most though were an anal probing scene and a mini-game that was focused on performing an interactive abortion.

Both moments (especially the latter) were bound to be controversial, but it was only North American players who actually got to experience them for themselves.

The whole appeal of South Park is its raucous, un-PC attitude though, and by bowing to the censors it took a bit of the punch out of its otherwise excellent gaming outing.
