Horror games are the perfect breeding ground for enemies that can't be killed. In cases like Slender, the player has no means of fighting back regardless, but in Dead Space 2, Isaac Clarke can be stocked to the gills with destructive mining implements and STILL be torn to shreds by the legendary deathless beast, the Ubermorph.

First glimpsed in Chapter 13, the Ubermorph is nothing like the dozens of Necromorph types Isaac Clarke has encountered thus far. Its appearance is far less human and far more alien than the converted human corpses the rest of the game has consisted of, with five glowing eyes and skin showing no signs of blood or tearing.

Shooting off its limbs will cause them to regenerate, whichever way you try it. But unlike its predecessor, the Hunter, who is finally incinerated by rocket fire, there is NO way at all to get rid of the Ubermorph.

Except, there is.

In Chapter 15, just before the final boss, the Ubermorph will drop down and pursue you once again. There is a large fan at the back of the room, and with a ton of quick shots from the Force Gun, the player can push the enemy through the fan, causing it to disappear from the playthrough forever.

Did that kill it, then, or is it still out there somewhere? You be the judge of that, but one thing's for certain: it's a hell of a relief to finally see the last of that guy.
