Despite closing down Lionhead Studios and killing off Fable: Legends, it seems that Fable isn't anywhere near being dead.
A brand new Fable game is quite the surprise, but rumours have suggested that the next Fable is in early development stages under the name 'Project Wisdom'.
Microsoft have also shown a lot of interest in the series, stating that there are still places it could go even after cancelling Legends.
The developers of Forza Horizon are believed to be behind the next Fable, which was made even more suspicious when it was revealed that the developers were hiring for a triple-A open-world game. That sounds like Fable to us.
Don't be expecting to see this one release anytime soon though, as it really is in early development. Still, it'd be pretty cool to see some sort of announcement happen that shows us what the future of Fable looks like.
It's been far too long since the last proper Fable game, so this is certainly good news.
