8 Video Game Bugs That Literally Destroyed Your Game

5. Tomb Raider: Legend - Pull Lever To Lose

If there’s one thing that Lara Croft is certainly used to by now thanks to her love of exploring dust-covered caves and dank tombs it’s got to be bugs, as she’s likely squished a fair few on her quest to disturb places of rest.

In fact, the series itself seems to be suffering a little from infestations as across the franchise there has been multiple gameplay affecting bugs, however, none are quite so horrible as the particularly nasty one that took the legs out from under Tomb Raider: Legend.

This bug could hit players when they came to battle a giant sea serpent boss in England. Here you’re meant to pull some levers during the fight to crush the beast with some metal cages, but if you do happen to explore the area before the fight, which is pretty much what the games have trained you to do, and pull the levers early, you’ll end up breaking the game!

Now when the boss battle starts you’ll rush to pull the levers and nothing will happen rendering the fight un-winnable! As the game uses an autosave system just before the fight, this can utterly screw over your game, meaning either downloading a save file from a helpful PC player or starting all over again.

Oh and this happens midway through the game, so have fun with that.
