7. Oda Nobunaga - Pokémon Conquest.
I mean... I genuinely don't know how to best express how utterly bizarre this crossover is. I feel I just need to point at a picture of Pikachu and then at Oda Nobunaga, famed Japanese warlord who according to many legends and fables might have actually been a demon.
HOW ARE THE TWO EVEN ON THE SAME LEVEL OF EXISTENCE? And yet, thanks to Pokémon Conquest, we get to see worlds collide in dramatic fashion. Now to be honest this isn't so much a character cameo and more a fully-fledged collision of two very distinct IPs, but I had to include it on this list as when else am I going to get to talk about Pokémon being used by Japanese warriors to do battle?
Likely never!
What is especially delicious about this crazy crossover is that the game in question is brilliant, blending complex strategy with delightful visuals and appealing characters. True, it does raise a tonne of questions, but when you're having this much fun who cares what the answers are?
