5. The Sorrow - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Now I bet a lot of you will be seeing Metal Gear Solid 3 on this list and being surprised not to see The End who, yes, you CAN beat by literally doing nothing, by waiting for a week during your battle with him and then finding out he died of old age. However, I have spoken about that old codger so much recently that I wish he would just pop his clogs and so instead I’m going to talk about The Sorrow.

Here, the tactics of shoot, sneak and throwing more chaff down than even Scarface could hoover up simply will not work because, plot twist, HE’S ALREADY DEAD! Oooh, spooky right? Well technically, he’s not dead and can just access a spirit realm of sorts and use the dead to harass you but that’s not as catchy.

Two can play at this game of playing with death. And by this, I mean that in order to beat The Sorrow, just let him kill you! I know it seems a little counter-intuitive, but if you use the revival pill after he leaves then you’ll get through the boss mission with ease. Not bad for doing nothing other than laying back and taking a pounding right?
