8 Video Game Enemies Who Won't Stay Dead!
4. Baldur - God Of War
Now I know what you're going to say about the fate of Baldur here, that yes indeed he does die at the end of the rather epic and wonderful PS4 God Of War title, but ye literal gods, how many times did we think we'd beaten this bastard only for him to come back to life throughout this?
From the opening moments when he comes knocking at the door to borrow a cup of feelings and asks you if you've got a moment to talk about Jesus, only to then punch you so hard that the Christ himself winces, to the final desperate struggle against him, Baldur takes over everything on screen, stealing focus so greatly that he became an overnight sensation.
His seeming invulnerability, plus his unnatural strength means that even Kratos finds himself on the receiving end of an almighty beatdown from time to time, and it becomes so clear how onesided a fight with him actually is, that even the God Of War gives him as wide a berth as possible until fortunes are reversed.
In a tragic sense, upon learning Baldurs motivations and his complex relationship with his mother, he's one of the few bosses that dies just at a time when audiences least want him to. A brilliantly executed character with a literal never say die attitude.
